At Measurabl, the Software Engineering Manager is responsible for leadership of one or more agile engineering teams. Duties include mentorship, project management, growth, and employee development. This role works in conjunction with other Software Engineering Managers and department heads to ensure effective communication and planning across teams.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

People Leadership:

  • Drive engagement and performance through hands-on leadership, 1:1’s, team collaboration, performance management programs, engagement programs, or other programs as needed
  • Working with People Operations team to recruit, hire, and train team members as needed
  • Ensure effective communication throughout department to ensure team members are aware of their responsibilities and alignment with company goals
  • Ensure effective team structure and make recommendations to department head regarding resourcing necessary to meet current and future needs of the department and organization
  • Maintain a team culture that is focused on continuous improvement, learning, and development to ensure Measurabl is best positioned to deliver a world-class product to our customers
  • Partner with department heads to develop and execute team technical strategy

Process & Technical Management:

  • Ensure timely delivery of quality software that scales to meet a rapidly growing business
  • Balance operational and product development needs that meet Product-led SLAs while maintaining team health
  • Work closely with other Engineering Managers and department heads to address any roadblocks that may negatively impact team members or development
  • Collaborate with Engineering management to develop and maintain documentation and processes related to SDLC, internal release processes, agile processes, development environment, and team structure

Project Management:

  • Work with the team assigned to the project and the Product team to translate business requirements into deliverables
  • Establish schedules, estimates, delivery timelines, and Agile process
  • Monitor project progress and ensure roadblocks are identified and addressed in a timely manner to avoid impacts to the overall project
  • Track and communicate project status and progress, risks, and timeline to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and approaches to managing technical teams

  • Previous leadership experience in agile software delivery environment
  • Previous experience managing high-scale technical software products for the entire lifecycle of launch to delivery to decommissioning
  • Previous experience managing teams that have both product development and operational responsibilities
  • A combination of professional or educational experience (whether formal or informal) that affords you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities above


Supervisory Responsibility:

This role manages one or more teams of developers that will range in size and area of focus based on the needs of the organization.
