Front-End Architect

Development – San Diego, California
Department Development
Employment Type Full-Time
Minimum Experience Experienced

Measurabl, the industry leading cloud based sustainability software for the built environment, seeks a talented and driven individual to join our growing team in San Diego, CA. The Front-End Architect will work with the product and engineering teams to help set the technical direction of our frontend technologies and develop elegant and easy-to-use web-based solutions for our customers. This is an ideal role for someone who is a self-starter and passionate about writing clean, robust code.

Technical Skills You Should Have:

  • Javascript: An understanding of ES5, ES6 and experience with AngularJS would help you hit the ground running. We are in the process of upgrading from Angular 1.5 to Angular 6 with TypeScript, so we're looking for someone with experience doing just that. Bonus points if you have experience with multiple single page application libraries like React, Vue, or Backbone. What’s important is you know how to build a large-scale application from scratch that can scale with many contributors.

  • HTML & CSS: Anyone who's done some web development will have written HTML and CSS, but bonus points if you're familiar with Bootstrap, Sass, Less, or CSS methodologies like BEM or Atomic. You should know how to build a component-centric UI with programmatic, extensible components. You should understand responsive design, have good intuition about finding edge-case style variations from best-case mocks, and have an eye for elegant UI and attention to detail.

  • Testing: You should be the kind of person who tests their code as a part of writing it, whether that's TDD-style or writing them after the fact. You should know your way around Mocha, Karma, Jasmine, or another testing suite.

  • Experience: We’re looking for an an experienced engineer who has built several large applications from the ground up. You should be the kind of engineer who can ramp up quickly and contribute meaningfully by owning major features, encourage best practices, and help guide our team. We'd like to hear about how you've served as a technical expert in a product development process, how you've collaborated successfully with stakeholders and teammates, and how you've dealt with challenging technical problems.
